Mediterranean Centre for Intercultural Studies

censiThe Mediterranean Centre for Intercultural Studies (CEMSI) of Mazara del Vallo, a non-profit association founded by the Episcopal Diocese of Mazara del Vallo and the Province of Trapani in collaboration with the regional university center of Trapani and the Theological Faculty of Sicily, it is proposed 'basic objective of promoting food and the process of integration of the cultural, economic and legal systems of the countries bordering the Mediterranean sea basin, favoring the dynamics of institutionalization of interactions and international trade in the "region."

In line with the aims of integrated and sustainable regional development on new euro-Mediterranean relations set out by the Conference of Foreign Ministers of the European Union held in November 1995 in Barcelona and taking into account the objectives set out by the European Neighbourhood and Partnership developed in 2004, and better outlined by the European Commission in December 2006, the CEMSI has as its mission to operate in particular in two areas (in the belief that they are interdependent sectors)
